Glass Bead Making
Nicky has always been fascinated with the addictive process of glass bead making.
This passion started at the Glasstec show in Dusseldorf, Germany in 1998 where she was mesmerized watching a well-known glass bead maker creating these unique treasures. She was hooked! After a lot of research and sourcing where to purchase the required equipment she eventually was able to make her first glass bead.
“What a wonderful experience that was! I learnt from my books and tried to teach myself, until I discovered an International glass school in Istanbul, Turkey. I was fortunate enough to be able to go and attend the course, which was a wonderful experience for me and it will always stand out as a highlight in my life.”Nicky’s generosity of spirit lends itself to sharing and she does this by passing on all that she has learned, and still is learning, to others. This international and self-taught knowledge that she has acquired over the years is invaluable as she guides each and every student of hers through the process of bead making or kiln work from start to finish.
If you are feeling inspired to learn a new craft be sure to contact Nicky to enquire or make a booking. Courses are held over a 1 to 3 day period and are one on one. This way student(s) can be assured to have Nicky’s full attention and guidance. Should you wish to do the course with a friend, maximum is 3 students per course. On completion of the course each student receives a certificate of attendance and are able to take the items they have made home with them.
Advice on necessary equipment and tools is available for those individuals wanting to have their own glass studio at home. Advanced day courses are also available after completion of the initial course or for those artists that are experienced but want to further their expertise.
